Carol Smith was born in Stamford, Texas. After graduating from Comanche High School and completing a variety of
undergraduate studies, she opted not to attend Baylor Law School utilizing a scholarship she had earned, but began
her career as wife of J.C. Smith, Jr., United States Naval Aviator. During the next twenty years Carol was involved
with the raising and nurturing of four Smith children, Kim, Trey, Kyle and Mindy.
After Captain Smith retired from the Navy, the Smiths made their home in west Texas. Carol began working on a lifelong ambition of writing
and was published in several publications: Jack & Jill, Cricket, Motor Home Life, Military Collectors Journal, EJAG News
and a variety of short story magazines.
In 2006, she published a collection of her short stories "Inside Out" as well as a book of her poetry "Close To My Heart."
She also published a book detailing her husband's Naval Career and his military accomplishments "Journey to Command."
